Easter at Disney World 2025: Rare Characters, Resort Egg Hunts & One Very Special Birthday

If you’ve ever wondered whether Easter at Disney World is worth the trip — we’re here to give you a full, honest answer from the Gils: yes. A thousand times yes. But there are a few things you’ll want to know before you go, and we’re going to walk you through all of it.

In 2025, Easter happened to fall on April 20th—which was also Pippa’s 4th birthday! So we were already planning something special. We just didn’t realize how special it was going to get.

Day One: Resort Hopping & The Flower & Garden Scavenger Hunt

We kicked things off on April 19th at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa, and if you’ve never made the resort stops part of your Easter itinerary, here’s your sign to start. The Grand Floridian’s Easter egg display is stunning—the kind of thing that makes you stop and just take it in. We got a photo with their “I’m Celebrating” frame and we were off!

From there, we made our way to the Contemporary to check out their display. The Contemporary’s display had us absolutely speechless. The Kakamora Easter egg sculpture —yes, the terrifying little coconut guys from Moana — was jaw-dropping. Equal parts adorable and slightly unhinged, which is honestly the sweet spot for Disney theming. Every year is guaranteed to be different than the last—Don’t skip it!

The EPCOT Flower & Garden Easter Egg Scavenger Hunt

Here’s the thing nobody warns you about: the EPCOT Easter Egg Scavenger Hunt is not a quick activity. We are Disney people. We plan. And we underestimated it.

The hunt takes you all across World Showcase, tracking down Easter eggs tucked into the various country pavilions. The eggs are beautifully themed to each country—wildly creative, really impressive. And also: sneaky. We spent a big chunk of our afternoon weaving through the festival with the girls in tow, convinced we were close, and then... we weren’t. We did not finish Day One.

We grabbed some gorgeous seasonal PhotoPass shots near the front of the park—the dandelion flower overlay photos are absolutely dreamy, and the girls looked picture-perfect with Spaceship Earth in the background—but the scavenger hunt had to wait.

Dinner at Minnie’s Springtime Dine at Hollywood Studios

We closed Day One at Hollywood Studios with dinner at Minnie’s Springtime Dine, and we cannot recommend this enough as a pre-Easter tradition. The theming is festive, the character lineup is fantastic, and there’s something about sitting down to a character meal the night before the big day that gets the kids absolutely buzzing. This is the perfect warm-up act for Easter Sunday.

Day Two: Easter Sunday + Pippa’s Easter Birthday at Magic Kingdom

We woke up on Easter morning to two kids in their pajamas, two Easter baskets the Easter bunny had left in the corner of the room, and zero chill. Candy for breakfast... This is the chaos and the joy, and we’d have it no other way.

Pro-Tip: We dedicated one whole carry-on that we never had to open for all things Easter Baskets and Birthday to make sure no surprises were ruined!

Then we headed to Magic Kingdom—because where else?! I LOVED designing the girl's Easter dresses this year—The Fab Five Egg Dress!

Crystal Palace Breakfast: Meet Rabbit (Yes, That Rabbit)

Our morning started at The Crystal Palace for breakfast, and here’s a tip that made our whole trip: Rabbit from Winnie the Pooh makes a seasonal appearance at Crystal Palace for Easter, and he is not a character you’ll find regularly. If you love Pooh characters, this is a rare and special get. The girls were thrilled. (but honestly, I think I was even more excited!). Completely worth booking.

The Easter Bunny Meet: Plan for the Wait

Here’s what Jacki had on her must-do list above everything else: meeting Mr. and Mrs. Easter Bunny in Magic Kingdom. They set up in a beautiful gazebo draped in wisteria — stunning backdrop, truly one of the prettiest character meet spots in the park.

It is also, apparently, on a lot of other people’s must-do lists.

Rudy got in line around 9am. He waited over an hour and a half. He let us run around and do a few things that are not his favorite in the meantime—i.e. all the spinny rides.

Worth it? Absolutely. The photos are some of our favorites from the whole trip — the whole Gil family, Easter outfits, wisteria everywhere, the two Bunnies flanking us like royalty.

But here is us telling you directly: get there as early as humanly possible. Like, rope drop early. This is not a “we’ll get to it this afternoon” kind of meet. The line builds fast and it builds long.

Or even better, if you’re there a few days early… meet them before Easter Day.

The Easter Parade & Rare Characters in the Wild

Magic Kingdom does a special Easter cavalcade/parade on Easter Sunday, and it only runs once. One time. So you need to find your spot and commit.

One thing we were not fully prepared for: April in Florida is hot. We knew this intellectually. We did not fully feel it until we were standing in one spot waiting for the parade!

We saw some characters that rarely make park appearances during this parade—and if you keep your eyes open in the green spaces around the castle, you may spot White Rabbit wandering near the butterflies and performers from the parade.

The Only Easter Treat You Need to Know About

Disney does Easter treats right, but our personal winner was the bunny tail rice crispy treat. Simple, a little silly, and completely perfect. Get one. You’ll understand.

We truly had the most magical day celebrating Easter and Pippa's birthday in the Magic Kingdom!

Day Three: Back to EPCOT — We Will Finish This Scavenger Hunt

We came back to EPCOT on April 21st for one reason: the girls were not leaving Florida until every egg on that list was found. Full stop.

Pro-tip: Look up a blogger’s cheat sheet before you go. We’re not too proud to say it.

We found one on Day Two — when we came back to EPCOT specifically to finish—and it saved us. The kids refused to give up, which is very on-brand for them, and honestly for us. What can I say? We love a completed map!

Our Easter at Disney World Verdict

If you’re on the fence about spending Easter at Disney World, here’s our take: do it. The theming is special, the character interactions are rare, and the energy of being at Magic Kingdom on Easter Sunday is something we’ll be talking about for years.

A few things to lock in before you go:

Book Crystal Palace for Easter breakfast. Rabbit is seasonal and worth every penny.

Get to the Easter Bunny meet at rope drop. We mean it. Early. Don’t test this one.

Grab a blogger’s cheat sheet for the EPCOT Egg Hunt—or just plan to spend two days on it. Both are valid.

Budget time for both the Grand Floridian and Contemporary egg displays. They’re free, quick, and genuinely impressive.

Show up for the Easter parade early. It’s one-time-only. Find your spot, plant your feet, and enjoy.

And if you happen to be celebrating a birthday on Easter Sunday? There is truly no better place on earth to do it.

Happy Easter Week from the Gils!  We’ll see you on Main Street.
